Fluorescent Annexin V Conjugates For Apoptosis Detection
Annexin V is an invaluable tool in cell biology research, providing insight into the apoptotic processes of cells. During apoptosis or cell death/ cell stress phosphatidyl serine is translocated to outer membrane surface. Annexin V binds to the externalized PS in a calcium dependent manner enabling the identification of apoptosis. By binding to phosphatidyl serine on the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane, annexin V enables researchers to detect and study apoptosis with precision and accuracy using various fluorescence-based techniques. Annexin V conjugated with fluorescent dye or enzyme allows the visualization of apoptotic cells by flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy or confocal microscopy.
